Tip 59:Reduce Cell Phone Health Risks

Friday, March 25, 2011 11:02 AM
Placing a cell phone against your ear sends high levels of radiation through your brain. In her book Disconnect (Penguin Group, 2010), Devra Davis, Ph.D., M.P.H., reveals why this radiation is harmful and how to reduce your exposure. One method is to use a headset with a low-power Bluetooth emitter, and another is to use the speakerphone function on the phone. Another suggestion is to use a landline whenever possible. Finally, because texting exposes you to less radiation than calling does, text whenever possible rather than making a call. Cell phones are here to stay, but using them wisely will ensure that you are around longer to use them.
